Rob Gokee, Composer, to Guest on Euro Chat February 27th, 2011

Have you ever wondered how a music composer reads a screenplay? Is it for tone, pace, dramatic tension?

Have you ever thought how reading a screenplay from a different point of view can help your screenwriting?

Well now is your chance to find out with Euro Scriptchat's next guest Rob Gokee on Sunday 27th February 2011, 8pm GMT.

Rob Gokee is a Composer & Author who studied at the University of New Mexico under seasoned composer Christopher Young (Spider-Man 3 , The Grudge ,Ghost Rider), where he sharpened his orchestration, mixing, and marketing skills. Rob has had formal training in classical guitar, and has been playing electric and acoustic guitar for over a decade. He is also proficient in piano, and uses these capabilities in his scoring process. Rob’s first full year of business in 2006 yielded 16 short films, including additional music that appeared in the nationally syndicated PBS show Roadtrip Nation.

Rob’s score for the period film Until Next Time won him a Silver Medal of Excellence at the 2008 Park City Music Festival, as well as a Best in the Fest award at the 2007 IndieFest Festival in Anaheim, CA.

In 2008, Rob put the finishing touches on his scores for the horror feature Eyes of the Woods, comedy Outrighteous, and the Lifeline Entertainment thriller Amhurst with director Rocky Costanzo, which was also released as a soundtrack on iTunes.  Rob credits Twitter and his marketing style there for his overwhelming amount of work. He is currently scoring over 9 different webseries (including GOLD, SOLO, Bestsellers & End Result, for which he’s nominated for Best Score at the Indie Intertube Awards) and 2 television shows (Fact or Fiction (Discovery) & POV (Tru)). He lives with his Producer girlfriend Allison, and spends his free time tweeting & working.
